2012: The Daylight Studio / I took over a raw, 3,000 square foot space on the second floor of a building. The landlord had gutted the space, removing all the light fixtures and radiators. Since it did not have heat or electricity I meant to use it for visible storage. The idea was to lay out all my sculptures and decide what to keep, what to thin out. The wrap around windows provided fantastic light. And since it got residual heat from the first and second floors it didn't get very cold in the winter. While cleaning the space I found one electrical outlet that was live, which meant I could charge my cordless tools. Thus a new workspace was born. I would work according to the rising and setting of the sun. And instead of thinning out the collection I added more to it.
